Ithaca
About Our Community
Ithaca offers many diverse opportunities for Jewish families with young children. Temple Beth El, a conservative temple, and Congregation Tikkun v'Or, a reform congregation can be accessed at www.tbeithaca.org and www.ithacareformtemple.org. Both offer religious education for children. In addition, Gan Shalom, operating out of Temple Beth El, is an independent nursery school that functions as a parent cooperative. There is an orthodox community centered at Cornell University's Center for Jewish Living, as well as a humanistic group - Kol Haverim.
Local PJ Partner
The Ithaca area PJ Library program is funded through the Ithaca Area United Jewish Community (a local network organization of the UJC that collects charitable donations supporting both local and global needs of the Jewish community). Dedicated funds for The PJ Library have been donated by several local individuals. Additionally, a generous donation has been received from Temple Beth El of Ithaca.
