About Our Community

The Council for Jewish Education (CJEd) is the educational arm of the Calgary Jewish Community Council (CJCC).  As such, CJEd / CJCC is the umbrella organization for Jewish life in Calgary that provides leadership to and represents the Calgary Jewish Community.  Our mission is to ensure and enhance the continuity and vibrancy of the Calgary Jewish Community and the Jewish communities of Canada, Israel and worldwide. We aim to foster community building among individuals and organizations; provide a democratic forum for discussion and determination of issues and policies; provide and support programs and services offered by CJCC and other organizations for the benefit of the Jewish communities it serves; raise and distribute funds in furtherance of the aims and objectives of the Jewish communities it serves; advocate on behalf of and speak for the Calgary Jewish community; provide for ongoing and future leadership development; and, liaise with other Jewish and non-Jewish communities.
